Sister Dorothy Biggs was honoured on Friday, July 31st for attaining 70 years of membership in the Order of the Eastern Star.  Sister Dorothy was presented her 70 year pin and a Life Membership for Star of the Nile Chapter #308 by Margaret Aziz, D.D.G.M #5 at Grand Wood Lodge.

Sister Dorothy, initiated March 23, 1939 into Flin Flon Chapter #29, Manitoba.  She affiliated with Opasqual Chapter #24 on April 23, 2005 when Flin Flon Chapter closed.  She joined Star of the Nile Chapter #208 on June 11, 2002.  She is a Past Matron and has not broken her years of membership according to the Grand Secretary of Manitoba.

A group of 9 members accompanied the DDGM.  Sister Dorothy has achieved the age of 101 years and hosted refreshments for the group including fresh fruit and pastry with tea and coffee

The occasion was most appreciated by Dorothy who actively engaged in conversation during our social and warmly thanked everyone for making this such a great occasion for her personally.  Many photographs were taken and are available for display.
