 One of our Projects is called ESTARL (Eastern Star Award for Religious Leadership). Grants are given to students who have completed one year of studies and who meet certain financial criteria. A student may receive a grant for more than one year. The funds for this Project come from Chapters all over Ontario. At August 2009 Grand Chapter Sessions - awards were made to 39 students, each with a value of $1400.00 DISTRICT 5 ESTARL STUDENTS Sandra Bendall - Daylight #326 As an Eastern Star member myself, I particularly appreciated the folks from Golden Acres #305 (District 4). Their prayers and support helped me to achieve ordination in the United Church of Canada. Everyone's cheque came from the grassroots - thank you for the hard work and dedication of members from all over the Province. It is now more tha 20 years since I was ordained and I know ESTARL financial and prayerful support have made a difference. Rev. Heather McLean My sincerest gratitude for three ESTARL awards that were an investment in ministry that still reap dividends twenty-five years later through my ongoing work as a Hospital Chaplain.
